On Thursday, October 2, 2025  the Churchill County Mosquito, Vector, and Noxious Weed Abatement District (hereafter referred to as “The District”) will make available at public auction via closed bid the following surplus property:

One (1) 1989 Argo 8-wheeled utility vehicle – Serial No.  NKB10065. Model No. V890-23, equipped with a Kohler 18hp, 2-cylinder gas motor, color: ORANGE.  The running condition of this vehicle is UNKNOWN.  This vehicle will be sold “AS-IS”,  with a Bill of Sale from the District.  There is no title or other paperwork.  Any warranty, express or implied, will not accompany this vehicle.  This vehicle will need to be trailered from its current location.  All taxes, transportation, and associated costs will be solely the responsibility of the buyer.  STARTING BID: $200.00

One (1) 1989 Argo Conquest 8X8 tracked utility vehicle – Serial No. CB14001, Model No. V894-37, equipped with a Kawasaki 2-cylinder gas motor, Color: GREEN.  The running condition of this vehicle is UNKNOWN.  This vehicle will be sold “AS-IS’, with a Bill of Sale and the purchase paperwork from the dealer.  Any warranty, express or implied, will not accompany this vehicle.  This vehicle will need to be trailered from its current location.  All taxes, transportation, and associated costs will be solely the responsibility of the buyer.  STARTING BID: $200.00

One (1) 1985 Gregor Aluminum hull 16.5 ft. boat, Hull No. GBC1041RE585 w/ trailer, equipped with an outboard Johnson V-4 gasoline motor, Model No. J100WTLCOC, Serial No. J612530.  The running condition of the motor is UNKNOWN.  The seaworthiness of the vessel is UNKNOWN.  The roadworthiness of the trailer is UNKNOWN.  This vessel will be sold “AS-IS”, with a title to the vessel and a Bill of Sale and all related paperwork.  Any warranty, express or implied, will not accompany this vessel, trailer or motor.  All taxes, transportation, and associated costs will be solely the responsibility of the buyer.  STARTING BID: $200.00

Vehicles will be available for public viewing prior to bidding BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT / APPOINTMENT ONLY.  Full details can be seen below under “Location and Inspection Information”.   

This auction will be conducted via closed mail-in bidding.  Bidding will begin at 7:00 AM  on Friday, October 3, 2025 and close at 5:00 PM on Friday, October 10, 2025.   Sealed bids must be postmarked no later than Friday, October 10, 2025.   Please include your contact information with an email address and phone number with your bid.  If this information is not included we will not be able to contact you if you are the winning bidder and will move to the next highest bid.  The winning bidder will be notified on Friday, October 17, 2025 via email and phone call (a message will be left if possible if there is no answer).  There will be no more than two (2) attempts to reach the highest bidder via phone within a 24 hours period.  No other emails will be sent.  The highest bidder will have 24 hours to respond.

 Location and Inspection Information: All vehicles are available to be viewed in person Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM beginning Friday, October 3, 2025 BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT / APPOINTMENT ONLY at The Churchill County Mosquito, Vector, and Noxious Weed Abatement District office facility located at 7400 Reno Hwy., Fallon, NV  89406.  The final day for viewing will be Friday, October 10, 2025.  To arrange to view the auction items call 775-423-2828 for an appointment.  Office hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR CLOSED BID AUCTION

Bidder and The District agree that the terms listed below shall govern the closed bid auction sale.
All bidders participating in this auction agree that they have read and fully understand these terms and agree to be bound thereby.

Bidders must be 18 years of age or older. If applicable, State and local Sales tax will be charged unless the District is presented with a valid exempt use or resale certificate. All sales are subject to appropriate State Tax Laws; Buyer must acknowledge and agree not to retract the purchase offer.

When Bidder places a bid on an item, Bidder is entering into a contractual agreement with the District.  Therefore, unless Bidder intends on being legally obligated to purchase the item(s) on which Bidder places a bid, Bidder should not place the bid. If Bidder does place a bid and fails to comply with the contractual agreement, Bidder agrees to be subject to the laws of the State of Nevada, County of Churchill.  All bids are binding, even if outbid, until the transaction of the highest legitimate bidder is completed with the District. In the case that the highest bid is considered fraudulent or the high bidder defaults on their bid, the District  will have the option of either selling to the next highest bidder, or canceling the auction. Auctions which close with a bid that is below the Reserve Price of an auction are the only exception to this policy, in which case neither the District nor the Bidder are obligated to complete the transaction normally.

BIDDER DISCLOSURE

Proof of payment from The District is required for release.  All sales will be made to the highest bidder, shall be final, and sold in “as is ,where is” condition, free from any guarantee or warranty.

Closing:
You will receive an email and phone call on Friday, October 17, 2025 if you are the winning bidder, with instructions on how to make payments and where to pick up your items.

Payments:
All bidders understand that all items up for auction are subject to the District’s confirmation. The high bidder will be notified by the next business day of the the District’sconfirmation. All payments must be initiated within 24 hours of notification of winning either in person at the District’s facility office or by overnight Cashier’s Check/Money Order to Churchill County Mosquito, Vector and Noxious Weed Abatement District, P.O. Box 2468, Fallon, NV  89407-2468.

Late payment; failure to complete sale:
If the winning bidder fails to make full payment of the purchase price and other fees within five (5) days after the auction, such winning bidder shall be deemed in default of its obligations in connection with the bid and shall forfeit its rights to purchase the goods, in which case the District may sell the goods to another bidder.

Removal:
The District agrees that the items may remain on the sale premises until 3:00 PM on Friday, October 24, 2025.  Items may be picked up between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM Monday thru Friday or by special arrangement with The District.  There will be NO WEEKEND releases. After the final removal date there may be a fee per day, per item storage fee charged to the Buyer. If merchandise is not removed within 5 days of the final removal date, the ownership of the items will revert back to the District. The District has the right to sue for collection of such charges. Items become the full responsibility of the Buyer at the time the Buyer takes possession, and Buyer assumes all risk of loss and damage to property at that time.

Descriptions:
The descriptions of items appearing in the auction and in advertising prior to the auction are believed to be correct. The District has made every reasonable attempt to provide the correct information regarding the items. Nevertheless, the District is not responsible for the correct description, year, make, model, VIN or serial numbers, mileage, authenticity, genuineness or defects on any item and makes no warranty. The District is not responsible for any items that are removed from law enforcement or county service vehicles by said law enforcement agency or County. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. No deduction will be allowed on damaged articles as all goods being exposed for public auction are sold “as is”, “where is” and with all faults. Bidder acknowledges that all items were available for inspection prior to the auction and the District strongly encourages the Bidder to carefully inspect each item in which the Bidder has any interest to determine the item’s condition, quality and size. Bidder relies solely on personal inspection and not on information listed on the Site or otherwise provided by the District.  Bidder’s failure to inspect or to be fully informed will not constitute grounds for any claim, adjustment, or refund, termination of the contract for sale or refusal to close the sale, against the District.
